Pregnancy and breast health
Changes noticed in the breast during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Although breast cancer is very rare in pregnancy, it is one of the most common cancers seen then. The growth of the breasts in pregnancy makes it harder to notice a lump.
Ending the pregnancy gives no extra benefit in cancer treatment; surgery and suitable chemotherapy drugs can be given safely in the second and third trimesters.
Breastfeeding is possible after treatment is completed; becoming pregnant is allowed 2-3 years after treatment.
